The Kosi River is a significant tributary of the Ramganga River, flowing through the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand and into Uttar Pradesh. It originates from the Dharapani Dhar near Kausani and flows through towns like Someshwar and Almora before entering Uttar Pradesh at Sultanpur.

The river passes through the left side of Rampur city and joins the Ramganga near Chamraul village in the Shahabad tehsil of Rampur district.
