Lady Wilson Museum

The Lady Wilson Museum in Dharampur, Valsad, Gujarat, established in 1928 and named after Lady Wilson who inaugurated it, is the largest multidisciplinary museum in South Gujarat. It was created to showcase art, industry, and cultural achievements and was largely built from collections gathered by Vijayadevji, a former revenue commissioner.

The museum houses a diverse array of artifacts including tribal art and culture of Gujarat, natural history specimens, lacquer and ivory carvings, metalwork, textiles, coins, paintings, and zoological displays. One notable exhibit is the skeleton of a blue whale captured near Nargol. The museum's extensive galleries aim to educate and inspire visitors about regional heritage, British colonial history, and the broader cultural context through interactive displays and special exhibitions.

It is also recognized for its Indo-Saracenic architecture and serves as an important cultural and educational center in the region. Facilities include guided tours, a café, and accessibility features, making it a valuable destination for learning about Gujarat’s rich history and art.
