Laxman Jhula is a famous iron suspension bridge across the Ganga River in Uttarakhand, India. It connects the villages of Tapovan in Tehri Garhwal district to Jonk in Pauri Garhwal district.
The bridge is 450 feet long and stands about 70 feet above the river. It is a popular landmark in the area and offers stunning views of the river and surrounding mountains.
According to legend, the Hindu deity Lakshmana crossed the river at this spot using jute ropes, which inspired the name of the bridge. The current iron bridge was constructed between 1927 and 1929 by the Public Works Department, replacing an older bridge that was washed away by floods.
