Lehripura Gate
Lehripura Gate, built in 1558, served as the western gateway to the old city of Vadodara, Gujarat. This towering structure, adorned with beautiful arches, was originally part of the fortifications of Kila-e-Daulatabad, constructed by Sultan Khalil Khan in the 16th century.
The name Lehripura is derived from the Lahari community, a group of coppersmiths who once resided in the area. Over time, the gate underwent modifications, notably in 1879 during the wedding of Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III, when decorative elements were added.
