Masjid Dastgeer Sahib is a revered shrine and mosque located in the Khanyar area of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. Dedicated to the famous Sufi saint Sheikh Syed Abdul Qadir Jeelani, also known as Dastgeer Sahib, the mosque is an important spiritual center for the local Muslim community.
Originally built in the 18th century, the shrine houses relics of Abdul Qadir Jeelani, including a hair strand known as "Mouia Pak," which was reportedly brought to Kashmir by a merchant from Kandahar in 1806. The mosque features stunning Indo-Saracenic architecture with intricately carved wooden pillars, beautiful ceilings crafted in the traditional "khatamband" style, and elaborate papier-mâché decorations.
The shrine spans approximately 740 square meters and has undergone several renovations, including repairs after a fire in 2012. Thousands of devotees visit the shrine during the Urs, the birth anniversary of Abdul Qadir Jeelani, to offer prayers and witness the display of relics.
