The palace is known for its beautiful blend of Indian and European architectural styles, featuring Rajasthan-style jharokas (overhanging enclosed balconies) and chhatris (elevated, dome-shaped pavilions).
The Old Moti Bagh Palace now houses the Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports (NIS), while the New Moti Bagh Palace serves as the residence of Captain Amarinder Singh, the former Chief Minister of Punjab. The palace is set in a stunning garden with terraces, water channels, and a Sheesh Mahal (mirror palace).
