The Norbugang Coronation Throne is a significant historical site located in Yuksom, West Sikkim, Sikkim. It is the place where Phuntsog Namgyal, the first Chogyal (King) of Sikkim, was crowned in 1642. The coronation was conducted by three learned Lamas, headed by Lhatsun Namkha Jigme.
The site features a stone throne that resembles an old Olympic medal podium. The area also includes the Norbugang Chorten, a stupa built to commemorate the coronation. Nearby, you can find Kuthok Lake, which is associated with the historical events of the coronation.
