Nuagada

Nuagada is a village and administrative block in the Gajapati district of Odisha, India, located about 16 kilometers south of the district headquarters, Paralakhemundi. It serves as the headquarters of Nuagada Tehsil, which was established in 2011 after separating from the R. Udayagiri Tehsil. The block spans roughly 464 square kilometers and comprises around 175 villages governed by 19 Gram Panchayats.

The terrain is predominantly hilly and highland, with more than 70% of the land characterized by such landscapes. According to the 2011 Census, Nuagada Tehsil has a population of about 54,700, with a significant majority belonging to Scheduled Tribes. The area includes religious sites like the Siddheshwar and Siddheshwari temples and natural attractions such as Dangasil Waterfall, contributing to local tourism.

Educational facilities include numerous elementary and high schools and a higher secondary school, while health services are provided by multiple government health centers and hospitals. Nuagada is part of the Mohana legislative assembly constituency under Odisha's state governance system. The climate features a tropical monsoon pattern with hot summers and a substantial rainy season during the southwest monsoon.
