Pari Mahal, also known as the "Palace of Fairies," is a stunning seven-terraced Mughal garden located atop the Zabarwan mountain range in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. Overlooking the city and the southwest of Dal Lake, this architectural marvel was built in the mid-1600s by Dara Shikoh, the eldest son of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan.
The structure was constructed on the ruins of an old Buddhist monastery and served as a library and a center for learning subjects like astrology and astronomy. The garden is a fine example of Islamic architecture, featuring arched doorways, terraced gardens, and intricate water channels.
