Parliament of India
The Parliament of India, located in New Delhi, is the seat of the country's legislative authority. It houses the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, the lower and upper houses of India's bicameral parliament. The building is situated on Rafi Marg in the Central Vista area, surrounded by other key administrative structures.
The original Parliament House, inaugurated in 1927, was designed by British architects Edwin Lutyens and Herbert Baker. Over time, the need for a new parliament building arose due to space constraints and the aging infrastructure of the old structure. As part of the Central Vista Redevelopment Project, a new parliament building was constructed and inaugurated on May 28, 2023.
Designed by architect Bimal Patel and built by Tata Projects, the new building features modern amenities while preserving the grandeur of its predecessor.
