The Peace Pagoda in Darjeeling, also known as the Japanese Peace Pagoda, is a serene and spiritual site located on the slopes of the Jalapahar Hills. Built under the guidance of Nichidatsu Fujii, a Buddhist monk from Japan, the foundation stone was laid on November 3, 1972, and the pagoda was inaugurated on November 1, 1992.
The pagoda stands at a height of 28.5 meters (94 feet) and features four avatars of Buddha, including Maitreya Buddha.
