Pulie Badze is a scenic mountain peak located in the Kohima District of Nagaland, standing at an elevation of 2,296 meters (7,533 feet). It is the centerpiece of the Pulie Badze Wildlife Sanctuary, which covers an area of approximately 9 square kilometers.
The sanctuary is a biodiversity hotspot, home to a variety of flora and fauna, including the striking Rhododendron trees that bloom with vibrant red flowers at the summit. The area is steeped in local legend, with the name "Pulie Badze" translating to "seat of Pulie," named after a heroic farmer who became a spirit after a dramatic encounter with a serpent.
The trek to the hilltop offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, including parts of Mt. Japfu, the second highest peak in Nagaland, and a panoramic view of Kohima town.
