Puzhal Aeri, also known as Red Hills Lake, is a serene rain-fed reservoir located on the outskirts of Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Built in the late 19th century during British rule, the reservoir was originally a small tank with a capacity of 500 million cubic feet (mcft). Over the years, its capacity was increased to 3,300 mcft in 1997 to cater to Chennai's drinking water needs.
The lake is surrounded by lush greenery and offers a peaceful environment for morning and evening walks, picnics, and watching the sunrise and sunset.
