Raj Mahal
The Raj Mahal in Faridkot, Punjab, is a magnificent palace built during the reign of Maharaja Bikrama Singh from 1885 to 1889. It was designed under the supervision of the then Crown Prince Balbir Singh, who later became the Maharaja. Spread over nearly 15 acres, the palace features French architectural influences, with beautiful grassy lawns and stunning gardens.
The entrance to the palace, known as Raj Deori, is itself a heritage building and now houses the Balbir Hospital. The palace is adorned with antique paintings and offers a royal look in contrast to the semi-desert surroundings.
