Rajgruha
Rajgruha, located in the Hindu Colony of Dadar, Mumbai, is the historic residence of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the principal architect of the Indian Constitution and a prominent social reformer. Built between 1931 and 1933, Rajgruha served as Dr. Ambedkar's home and housed his extensive personal library, which contained over 50,000 books. The name "Rajgruha" is derived from the ancient Buddhist kingdom of Rajgriha.
Today, Rajgruha is a memorial and museum dedicated to Dr. Ambedkar's life and legacy. The ground floor of the building hosts a heritage museum that displays photographs, personal belongings, and Dr. Ambedkar's ashes. The site is a popular destination for Ambedkarite Buddhists and Dalits, especially on December 6th, the anniversary of Dr. Ambedkar's death, known as Mahaparinirvan Diwas.
