The Ramganga Dam, also known as the Kalagarh Dam, is an embankment dam on the Ramganga River, located about 3 kilometers upstream of Kalagarh in the Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand. Constructed between 1961 and 1974, this dam is part of the Ramganga Multipurpose Project, which serves both irrigation and hydroelectric purposes.
The dam supports a 198 MW power station and provides water for irrigating 57,500 hectares of farmland. Additionally, it aids in flood control and offers recreational opportunities. Situated within the Jim Corbett National Park, the dam is a scenic spot where many migratory birds visit during the winter season.
The dam is 128 meters tall and 630 meters long, with a reservoir capacity of 244,960,000 cubic meters. The nearest city is Lansdowne, and the dam is easily accessible from the Kalagarh village.
