Ramakrishna Museum

The Ramakrishna Museum, located at Belur Math in Howrah, West Bengal, was established to preserve and showcase the legacy of Sri Ramakrishna, Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda, and their disciples. Opened in 1994 and later expanded with a new building in 2001, the museum presents a comprehensive exhibit on the lives and contributions of these great spiritual figures, as well as the history and ideals of the Ramakrishna Movement.

The museum's architecture is designed to resemble a blooming lotus, symbolizing spiritual growth. Visitors can see artifacts such as personal items used by Ramakrishna and his disciples, original manuscripts, and realistic recreations of significant places like the Panchavati where Ramakrishna practiced sadhana. Murals around the museum depict India's cultural history from ancient times up to the early 20th century.

The museum aims to provide not only historical insights but also a spiritually vibrant experience, reflecting the dynamic spirit of the Ramakrishna Movement as it continues its influence worldwide. It stands as a unique space for contemplation and spiritual education, holding a special place at the heart of Belur Math, the headquarters of the Ramakrishna Mission.
