Rani Mahal
Rani Mahal, also known as the Queen's Palace, is a historic royal residence in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. Built by Raghu Nath-II of the Newalkar family, the palace later became one of the homes of Rani Lakshmibai, the legendary queen of Jhansi. Architecturally, Rani Mahal is a two-storeyed, flat-roofed structure with a quadrangular courtyard, featuring a small well and a fountain on opposite sides.
The palace consists of six halls and parallel corridors, adorned with multi-foiled arches and intricate designs. The Darbar Hall, accessible via a flight of steps, is beautifully decorated with paintings in bright colors, showcasing floral, faunal, and geometric motifs.
