Samaspur Bird Sanctuary
The Samaspur Bird Sanctuary is located near Salon in the Raebareli district of Uttar Pradesh, about 122 kilometers from Lucknow on the Lucknow-Varanasi highway. Established in 1987, the sanctuary spans around 799.4 hectares and is a Ramsar Wetland Site, recognized for its rich biodiversity.
The sanctuary is home to more than 250 species of birds, including migratory and resident species. Some of the notable birds you can spot here include the greylag goose, pintail, common teal, Eurasian wigeon, northern shoveler, and ruddy shelduck.
The sanctuary also supports a variety of freshwater fish species and provides food products and agricultural fodder.
