Satopanth Tal

Satopanth Tal, also known as the "Lake of the Gods," is a high-altitude glacial lake located in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, at an elevation of approximately 4,600 meters (15,092 feet).

The lake is nestled amidst the snow-capped peaks of the Trishul massif and is considered sacred by Hindus. According to legend, the lake is inhabited by the deities Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva, who meditate here.

The trek to Satopanth Tal is a challenging yet rewarding journey that takes trekkers through diverse landscapes, including dense forests, alpine meadows, and glacial moraines. The trail starts from Mana village, near the famous pilgrimage site of Badrinath, and passes through scenic locations such as Lakshmi Van, Chakratirtha, and Vasundhara Falls.

The trek typically takes around 6-8 days to complete and offers stunning views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks.
