Sitabuldi Fort Nagpur
Sitabuldi Fort is a historic fort located atop a hillock in central Nagpur, Maharashtra. It was built by Mudhoji II Bhonsle, also known as Appa Sahib Bhosle, of the Kingdom of Nagpur, just before he fought against the British East India Company during the Third Anglo-Maratha War. The fort played a significant role in the Battle of Sitabuldi in 1817, where British forces defeated the Marathas.
The fort is now a war memorial maintained by the Indian Army. It is open to the public on national holidays such as Republic Day (26th January), Maharashtra Day (1st May), and Independence Day (15th August). The fort offers a picturesque view of Nagpur and houses a memorial to honor the soldiers who died during the battle.
