The Sri Someshwara Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple is located in Palakurthy, a sub-division of the Warangal district in Telangana. Perched on a hillock at a height of 120 meters, the temple is unique in its structure and location.
According to legend, Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu, the two powerful gods of the Hindu Trinity, incarnated in two caves formed next to each other on the same hillock, leading to the formation of the temple.
The temple is dedicated to the worship of both Shiva and Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy (Vishnu). The surrounding hills form a natural Pradakshina Patha, or circumambulation path, for devotees. The entrance to the inner chambers of the temple is flanked by two dwarapalikas (guardian deities) resembling Shiva in the Nataraj posture, holding the damaru (hand drum). A Nandi bull graces the entrance to the Shiva temple.
