Sri Vasisteswarar Temple
The Sri Vasisteswarar Temple is actually located in the village of Thittai, which is about 11 kilometers north of Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva as Vasishteswarar and Goddess Parvati as Ulaganayaki.
It is one of the 275 Paadal Petra Sthalams, which are temples revered in the early medieval Tevaram poems by Tamil Saivite Nayanars.
The temple is known for its unique feature where a drop of water falls on the Shiva Linga every 24 minutes from the ceiling, thanks to a special stone called Chandrakanth that absorbs moisture from the air. This phenomenon attracts many devotees and visitors.
The temple also has a separate sanctum for Lord Brihaspati (Guru Bhagavan), which is quite rare.
