Sri Venugopal Swamy Devalaya
The Sri Venugopal Swamy Devalaya, also known as the Venugopala Swamy Temple, is a beautiful example of Hoysala architecture located near the Krishna Raja Sagara (KRS) Dam in Mysuru, Karnataka. Originally built in the 12th century, the temple was submerged when the KRS Dam was constructed. It was later restored and relocated to Hosa Kannambadi, about one kilometer from the Brindavan Gardens.
The temple features intricate carvings, beautifully sculpted pillars, and a serene courtyard. The main deity, Lord Krishna playing the flute as a cowherd (Venugopala Swamy), is the centerpiece of the temple.
The surrounding gardens and the peaceful backwaters of the KRS Dam make it a picturesque and tranquil spot for visitors.
