Swaraj Bhawan
Swaraj Bhavan, located in Prayagraj (formerly Allahabad), Uttar Pradesh, is a historically significant mansion that was once the residence of the Nehru family. Built in 1900, it was originally named Anand Bhavan and later donated to the nation by Motilal Nehru in 1930 to serve as the headquarters of the Indian National Congress.
Today, Swaraj Bhavan functions as a museum managed by the Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Fund. It houses 42 rooms filled with memorabilia, including personal belongings of the Nehru family, photographs from the Indian freedom movement, and a charkha (spinning wheel) used by Mahatma Gandhi.
The museum also features an underground room that was used for secret Congress meetings during the British rule.
