Tellicherry Fort, located in Thalassery town of Kannur district, Kerala, was built in 1708 by the British East India Company to establish a secure base on the Malabar Coast. This square-shaped fort made of laterite blocks features massive walls, strong bastions, secret tunnels to the sea, and intricately carved large doors. Positioned on rugged cliffs overlooking the Arabian Sea near Muzhappilangad Beach, it served as a key military and trading center.

The fort played a significant role during conflicts, including resisting an attack by Hyder Ali, and was later part of British colonial administration.
