The Vallanadu Black Buck Sanctuary is a protected area located in the Srivaikuntam Taluk of Thoothukudi district, near Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. It covers an area of 16.41 square kilometers and is the southernmost place in India where a natural population of blackbuck antelopes can be found.
The sanctuary is home to a variety of flora and fauna, including blackbucks, spotted deer, macaques, jungle cats, mongooses, black-naped hares, and scaly anteaters. It also hosts a diverse range of bird species, such as peafowls, herons, storks, grey partridges, jungle crows, common quails, pied crested cuckoos, crested-hawk eagles, black-winged kites, curlews, lapwings, nightjars, sparrows, and horned owls.
