Vembanad Rail Bridge, also known as the Edappally-Vallarpadam Bridge, is a marvel in Kerala. Stretching 4.62 kilometers, it is the second longest railway bridge in India and primarily serves freight operations. This bridge connects Edappally with the Vallarpadam International Container Transshipment Terminal (ICTT) in Kochi.
Eighty percent of the bridge is constructed over the picturesque Vembanad Lake, making it a stunning sight for travelers. The bridge passes through three small islands: Idyakkara, Mulavukad, and Vallarpadam.
Vembanad Rail Bridge is located in Ernakulam, Kerala.
