Vijayraghavgarh is a historic town and tehsil in Katni district, Madhya Pradesh, situated along the Mahanadi River. Its most notable feature is the Vijayraghavgarh Fort, constructed starting in 1826 by Thakur Prayag Das, named after Lord Vijayraghav, a form of Lord Rama.
The fort is architecturally significant and well-fortified, surrounded by rivers on two sides and a large mountain on the third, making it highly defensible. The site played an important role in India's 1857 revolt against British rule, led notably by Raja Sarju Prasad Singh, who initiated a rebellion and was the first to attack a British commissioner there.
