Yumthang Valley, located in North Sikkim at an elevation of about 3,564 meters (11,693 feet), is famously known as the "Valley of Flowers" due to its vibrant seasonal blooms, especially rhododendrons, which cover the valley in colorful hues from late February to mid-June.
Surrounded by snow-capped Himalayan peaks, alpine meadows, and hot springs, the valley is part of the Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary, housing more than twenty-four species of rhododendrons along with other alpine flowers like orchids and primulas. A tributary of the Teesta River flows through the valley, adding to its scenic charm.
