India's remarkable rise in the Asia Power Index, now ranking as the third most powerful nation in Asia, is a testament to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's strategic leadership. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri attributes this ascent to Modi's visionary policies, which have significantly bolstered India's economic, military, and diplomatic capabilities.
Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has unveiled what he describes as a 'silent revolution' within India's labour force, driven by Prime Minister Modi's transformative policies. This revolution is characterized by an unprecedented increase in women's participation in the workforce, which has doubled in just seven years.
Mansukh Mandaviya emphasized that Indian women are now leading the charge, taking on greater responsibilities, and breaking barriers like never before. "India has been quietly engineering a women-led economic revolution," he stated, highlighting the dramatic shift in women's roles in the economy.
He also praised Prime Minister Modi’s initiatives, such as the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, Stand-Up India, and Skill India, for putting women at the forefront of India's growth. These policies are not mere tokens but represent significant shifts in how women are perceived as drivers of economic progress.
BJP leader Smriti Irani highlighted the strenuous hours women are logging, particularly in high-demand industries like professional, scientific, and technical activities. Indian women are working more hours per week than their counterparts in several countries, with some even exceeding 55 hours a week.
Irani stressed that women are no longer the silent workforce; they are now pivotal to India's economic engine. "Prime Minister Modi has set the stage, but now it’s time for everyone—businesses, industries, society, and women themselves—to embrace the sacrifices women are making and ensure that this silent revolution becomes impossible to ignore," she added.
India's ascent in the Asia Power Index and the ongoing transformation in its labour force underscore the profound impact of Prime Minister Modi's leadership. As the nation continues to rise on the global stage, the contributions of its women workforce will undoubtedly play a crucial role in shaping its future.
