Balod is a district located in the state of Chhattisgarh, India. It was formed on January 1, 2012, when it was carved out from the Durg district. The district headquarters is located in the town of Balod.
Geographically, Balod is situated in the central part of Chhattisgarh. It shares its borders with Durg, Bemetara, and Raipur districts. The district covers an area of approximately 3,523 square kilometers.
