Baran district is a district located in the state of Rajasthan, India. It is situated in the southeastern part of the state and is bordered by Kota district to the north, Jhalawar district to the east, and Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh to the south.
The district headquarters of Baran is the city of Baran, which is also the largest town in the district. Other major towns in the district include Antah, Atru, and Chhabra. The district is predominantly rural, with agriculture being the primary occupation of the people.
