Bokaro is a district located in the state of Jharkhand, India. It is known for its rich industrial and mineral resources. The district headquarters is Bokaro Steel City, which is a major industrial center in the region.
Bokaro district was carved out of the Dhanbad district in 1991 and is situated in the Chota Nagpur plateau region. It shares its borders with the districts of Dhanbad, Giridih, Ramgarh, Hazaribagh, and Purulia (in West Bengal).
