Hailakandi is a district in the state of Assam, India. It is located in the southern part of the state and is bordered by Cachar district in the west, Mizoram state in the south, and Bangladesh in the south and east.

The district headquarters of Hailakandi is the town of Hailakandi, which is also the largest town in the district. The district is divided into three revenue circles: Hailakandi, Katlicherra, and Lala. Hailakandi has a rich cultural heritage with a mix of various ethnic communities. The predominant language spoken in the district is Bengali, followed by Assamese and Hindi.
