Mahoba district is located in the state of Uttar Pradesh in India. It is situated in the Bundelkhand region of the state. The district has a rich historical significance and is known for its ancient forts, temples, and archaeological sites.

Mahoba town is the administrative headquarters of the district. The district covers an area of approximately 2,876 square kilometers and is bordered by Jhansi district to the north, Banda district to the east, Hamirpur district to the south, and Lalitpur district to the west.
