District Palwal is a prominent district located in the state of Haryana, India. It is situated in the southern part of the state and is known for its rich historical and cultural significance. Palwal district was carved out of Faridabad district on 15th August 2008 and is named after the town of Palwal, which serves as its administrative headquarters.

Geographically, Palwal district is bordered by the Yamuna River on the east, Faridabad district on the north, Nuh district on the west, and Uttar Pradesh state on the south. The district covers an area of approximately 1,359 square kilometers and comprises four tehsils, namely Palwal, Hodal, Hassanpur, and Prithla.
