District Panchkula is located in the state of Haryana, India. It is one of the 22 districts of Haryana and is part of the National Capital Region (NCR). Panchkula is situated at the foothills of the Shivalik Range, near the cities of Chandigarh and Mohali.
Geographically, Panchkula spans an area of approximately 898 square kilometers. It is surrounded by the districts of Ambala in the northeast, Mohali in the northwest, and Chandigarh in the southwest. The district is named after the Panchkula village, which is one of the earliest inhabited places in the region.
