Samba district is located in the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It was created in the year 2007 after it was carved out of the Jammu district. The district has an area of 904 square kilometers and a population of around 318,000 people (as per 2011 census).

Samba district is known for its rich cultural heritage and history. It has several ancient temples and forts, including the famous Samba Fort, which dates back to the 14th century. The district is also known for its agricultural products, including rice, wheat, and maize.
