Seraikela-Kharsawan district is located in the state of Jharkhand, India. It was formed on 1st January 2001 after the bifurcation of the erstwhile Singhbhum district. The district headquarters is located in Seraikela, which is a historical town known for its rich cultural heritage.

Seraikela-Kharsawan district is situated in the southern part of Jharkhand and shares its borders with West Singhbhum, Saraikela-Kharsawan, and East Singhbhum districts. The district covers an area of approximately 2,724 square kilometers.
