Sri Sathya Sai district is an administrative district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, with its headquarters located at Puttaparthi. The district was formed on April 4, 2022, by carving out parts of the erstwhile Anantapur district, including the Dharmavaram, Penukonda, and Kadiri revenue divisions, along with creating a new Puttaparthi revenue division.
The district is named after the revered Indian spiritual leader Sri Sathya Sai Baba, who made significant contributions to the region’s infrastructure, including schools, universities, free healthcare institutions, and drinking water projects. Geographically, the district is bounded by Anantapur district to the north, Annamayya and Kadapa districts to the east, and the Karnataka state districts to the west and southwest.
