Vizianagaram is a district located in the northeastern part of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is situated along the eastern coast of the country and shares its borders with the districts of Srikakulam to the north, Visakhapatnam to the east, and Odisha to the northwest.
The district is named after the princely state of Vizianagaram, which was ruled by the Varma dynasty. It has a rich historical and cultural heritage, with several ancient temples, palaces, and monuments. The town of Vizianagaram, also known as the "city of victory," serves as the administrative headquarters of the district.
