The Aadishakti Mata Ekvira Devi Temple is a revered Hindu temple located near Lonavala, Maharashtra, about 90 kilometers from Pune. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Ekvira, who is considered an avatar of Renuka Devi. It is believed that the temple was built by the Pandavas during their exile (Aranayakasam).
According to legend, Goddess Ekvira appeared before the Pandavas and instructed them to build a temple overnight. Impressed by their devotion, she blessed them and granted them the boon of remaining undiscovered during their exile.
The temple is a prime spot of worship for the Koli (fishermen) community and other castes such as CKP and Daivadnya Brahmins. The temple complex includes three main shrines facing west, surrounded by sixteen additional shrines of parivara devatas. The temple is especially crowded during Navaratri and Chaitri Navratra.
