All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bilaspur (AIIMS-Bilaspur)

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences Bilaspur (AIIMS Bilaspur), located in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh, is a premier autonomous public medical institute established under Phase-V of the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) as an Institute of National Importance, with foundation laid in 2017 and inauguration in 2022.

Spread across a 247-acre campus in Kothipura village along National Highway 205, it features a state-of-the-art 750-bed hospital with 18 specialty and 17 super-specialty departments, 64 ICU beds, 20 modular operation theaters, advanced diagnostics like CT, MRI, SPECT/CT, PET/CT, 24-hour emergency and dialysis services, Amrit Pharmacy, Jan Aushadhi Kendra, and a 30-bed AYUSH block.

AIIMS Bilaspur offers MBBS (100 seats via NEET UG), MD/MS, DM/MCh super-specialty courses, BSc/MSc nursing, and PhD programs, treating over 30,000 patients monthly while advancing cancer care, trauma services, and research through ICMR projects, with four times more ventilators than other state hospitals and ongoing Rs 178 crore infrastructure expansions including staff housing and solar power. Its rapid development enhances tertiary healthcare access for Himachal Pradesh and nearby regions in a green, self-reliant facility.
