Antur Fort, located near Nagapur village in Kannad taluka of Aurangabad district (now Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar), Maharashtra, was built around the mid-15th century by a Maratha chief and later came under the control of the Nizam Shahi dynasty of Ahmadnagar.
The fort is situated on a nearly square hill with natural cliffs about 700 feet high on three sides, with artificial scarping on the south. It features two lines of walls with bastions and a fortified entrance guarded by teak wood gates. The fort has historical significance for its strategic location, overseeing an ancient trade route connecting Khandesh and Marathwada, and it witnessed many constructions during the reign of Nizamshahi and later passed under Mughal and British control.
The fort complex includes bastions, gates with inscriptions, a mosque, and other defensive structures, offering extensive ruins and panoramic views.
