The Appan Thampuran Memorial, also known as the Ramavarma Appan Thampuran Memorial, is located in Ayyanthole, Thrissur City, Kerala. It was established in 1976 to honor Ramavarma Appan Thampuran, a renowned scholar and writer, for his literary and cultural contributions. The memorial is situated within the historic Kumarapuram Palace, where Appan Thampuran lived.
The memorial houses a vast collection of books, journals, magazines, and manuscripts, including priceless collections like Vidyavinodini, Bhashaposhini, Sathyanada Kahalam, Rasikaranjini, Mangalodayam, and Athmaposhini. It also features a writer's museum and a library with over 7,160 bound volumes of magazines.
The premises include five cottages, each with a writing room, kitchen, veranda, and a hall, collectively known as Kairali Gramam.
