Asar Mahal
Asar Mahal, also known as Asar-i-Mahal, is a historical monument located in Vijayapura (Bijapur), Karnataka. It was built by Mohammed Adil Shah in about 1646 and served as a Hall of Justice. The building is also known for housing hairs from the Prophet's beard. The upper storey of the building is decorated with beautiful frescoes, and the front is graced with a square tank.
The Asar Mahal is an excellent example of Indo-Islamic architecture, with intricate designs and carvings. The building is surrounded by three tanks, with the central tank being about 15 feet deep. The site is maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India and is a popular tourist destination.
