Asmangadh Fort
Asmangadh Fort, also known as Asman Garh Palace, is located in the Malakpet area of Hyderabad, Telangana. Built in 1885 by Sir Asman Jah, the Prime Minister of Hyderabad State, it was designed as a miniature castle perched on a hillock, earning its name which means "home in the sky."
The palace showcases Gothic architecture with features like granite turrets, arched windows, and castellated battlements. Originally a leisure retreat for the Nizam and his courtiers, it later housed a museum and orphanage before being converted into St. Joseph's Public School. The fort offers commanding views of the surrounding area, and it is believed there is an underground tunnel connecting it to Golconda Fort.
Despite partial demolition for new construction, it remains a significant heritage structure reflecting Hyderabad’s royal history.
