Tourist Attraction
Bhadon Pavilion
Bhadon Pavilion is one of the two elegant white marble pavilions located within the Hayat Bakhsh Bagh garden of the Red Fort in Central Delhi. Named after the Hindu month of Bhadon, the pavilion features exquisite architectural details, including carved niches in its walls designed to hold tiny oil lamps or vases during the day, creating a mesmerizing effect of cascading water in front of the niches.
It faces its twin pavilion, Sawan, across a water channel, forming a beautiful symmetrical setting. These pavilions were part of the Mughal emperor's pleasure garden, symbolizing paradise on earth, with water channels, flowing fountains, and rich floral decor enhancing the serene ambiance.
Though much of the original garden and its water features were destroyed during the British colonial period following the 1857 rebellion, the Bhadon Pavilion remains a testament to Mughal artistry and the grandeur of the Red Fort.
