Bhupathipalem Reservoir
Bhupathipalem Reservoir is an earthen dam located near Rampachodavaram town in the East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. Constructed on Seethapalli Vagu, a hill stream and tributary of the Godavari river, the reservoir serves as a medium irrigation project, providing water to an area of 11,526 acres of tribal ayacut and drinking water to 32 villages in the Rampachodavaram and Gangavaram Mandals.
Surrounded by lush pine and coniferous trees, the reservoir offers a picturesque setting with a small island and submerged trees visible in the water. Visitors can enjoy boating on paddle boats, as mechanized boats are not allowed, ensuring the waters remain calm and reflective of the surrounding mountains.
The serene environment makes it an ideal spot for picnics, birdwatching, and photography.
